Impactful information about health services<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

SoteDataLab is a research project focusing on the effectiveness of social and health services, which is carried out in cooperation between the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Aalto University and the University of Turku. The project is funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. We study the use, users, production and effectiveness of health services in order to produce information that supports decision-making. In particular, we focus on digital services and the use of artificial intelligence in social and health care. Our research is mainly based on register data: We strive to use diverse and up-to-date register data on the use of social and health services and the background characteristics of the population.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Population coverage of public digital clinics increased to over 4.3 million in May 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

More than 4.3 million Finns are already covered by the public healthcare digital clinic, and many have access to the digital clinic also through occupational health care. In recent months, public digital clinics have expanded rapidly into new areas and already cover nearly 80 % residents of mainland Finland. Digital clinics have become more common in Finland at a tremendous pace, but little research has been done on their impact and effectiveness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
